Summer offshore fishing in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa beach
Offshore fishing in Cape Canaveral this month has had a slow start with winds blowing hard out of the South and East. King-fish are still a solid bet when we can load our live wells full of menhaden . We are catching them from 14 to 22 miles out of Port Canaveral on the local wrecks and reefs with some bigger fish burning drag. Cobia, Cobia, Cobia Our last few trips have produced some good fish from 25-40 pounds. Mahi have been very scattered, we have a ton of weed mats in our area now and just waiting for the winds and current to throw them together. Amber-jacks and large red snapper are a safe bet in the 100ft plus region right now, great fun but we like to put fish in the box. Bigger Amber-jack are being caught from120-185. These fish are ranging from 60-80lbs and one heck of a fight. You have many options for Offshore Sport-fishing in Port Canaveral for May -August please discuss your quest with Captain Tim Altman.
